Dessia Goodwin, 86, of Vidor, Texas died Monday, June 15, 2009 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital in
Beaumont, Texas.
A native of Pointe Coupee Parish, she had lived in Vidor, Texas since 1965 and was a retired head bookkeeper with G.C. Murphy.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 18, 2009 at Pine
Forest Baptist Church in Vidor, Texas under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, Texas with graveside services at 11 a.m. Friday, June 19, 2009 at Hicks Pentecostal Cemetery in Hicks.
Visitation was held at 6 p.m.
Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at Memorial Funeral Home.
Dessia was preceded in death by her husband and father of her children Ralph Burnis Hall and her husband Paw Neal Goodwin; son Jerald D. Hall and his wife Evelyn and Ronnie E. Hall;
brothers Algie Lee Norwood and Willis Norwood; sisters Annie Bell Burns, Ethel Bass, Odessa Lea, Reddie Wellman and Beatrice Williams.
She is survived by her sons Maurice Hall and wife Peggy of Lubbock, Texas, Wayne Hall and wife
Jerry Lynn of Lumberton, Texas and Glen Hall and wife Kay of Buna, Texs; daughter Anetia Merrell and husband Ronald of Vidor, Texas; daughter-in-law Linda Hall of Orange, Texas; 22 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, nine great-great
grandchildren, and two great-great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
