Funeral services for Catherine C. Slaydon, 76, of Leesville will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, May 17, 2009
at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville, with Rev. Melton Mitchell, Rev. Steve Lora and Bro. Irby Perkins, Jr. officiating. The burial will follow in the Cooper Cemetery. Friends may visit Saturday, May 16 from 11 a.m. until service time on
Sunday, in the funeral home.
Services are under the direction of the Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville.
Mrs. Slaydon passed away on Friday, May 15, 2009 at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria. She was
a life-long resident of Leesville, and retired from the LA Forestry Service as a tower watchman. She was a member of the Family Worship Center in Leesville. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She was preceded
in death by her husband Willie M. Slaydon and her son Kenneth W. Slaydon.
Mrs. Slaydon is survived by sons, Bobby and wife Linda Slaydon of Leesville, David Slaydon of Leesville and Danny and wife Essie Slaydon of Leesville;
daughters, Dot Welch of New Llano and Geraldine and husband Dennis Foster of Rosepine; three brothers, Leo Jr, and wife Ida Liles of Anacoco, Ronald and wife Dena Liles of Jena and Dewey and wife Lecia of Rosepine; sisters, Frances Bassett of
Anacoco, Sudie Rhodes of Leesville and Mary and husband Leroy Williams of Houston, Texas; 10 grandchildren which includes Trina Williams, whom she raised; and 11 great grandchildren.
