Thaney Jewel Cabra

Thaney Jewel Graham Self Cabra was born August 27, 1912 and died on April 3, 2009 at the age of 96
years, 7 months and 8 days.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Addie Sandell Graham; Robert Pierce Self, her husband of 43 years and the father of her one son and two daughters; her husband of seven years Bernice
Cabra; three brothers, Lusher, Omer and Sherman Graham; three sisters, Ruby Graham Rains, Audrey Graham Bentsen and Lillian Graham Monteleon and her son-in-law, Maxwell Juneau.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Juneau and Ruth
Jones and her husband Wayne; one granddaughter, Leah Jones Williams, her husband Rodney and their son Duncan all of Hornbeck; one brother, Perry Graham of Seguine, Texas; one sister, Leatha Mae McFerrin of Baton Rouge; and a host of nieces and
nephews.
Miss Thaney, as she was called by her friends, was a life-long resident of Hornbeck. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Hornbeck for over 50 years where she taught Sunday school, was Sunday school secretary and
performed many other tasks within her beloved church. She drove a school bus for 33 years to Hornbeck High School. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years. The last three years and three months of Miss Thaney’s life were
spent at The Woodlands in Leesville.
Her funeral services will be at 2 p.m Tuesday, April 7, at First Baptist Church in Hornbeck with Joey Williams and Bill Hines officiating. The burial will be in the Self Cemetery in Hornbeck.
The family has asked that in lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Piano Fund and the First Baptist Church in Hornbeck.
Services are under the direction of the Labby Memorial Funeral Home in
Leesville.
