Funeral services for Woodrow Bailey will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2009 at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of Hixson Funeral Home of DeRidder with the Revs. Kelly Harper, Hershall Davis and Wayne Kite officiating.
Burial will
follow in the Hopewell Cemetery under the direction of Hixson of DeRidder.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday in the Funeral Home.
Mr. Bailey, 91, of DeRidder, was a lifelong resident of Beauregard
Parish where he worked as a finish carpenter until his retirement. He was a member of the Carpenters Union of Lake Charles and was of the Baptist faith. He loved to garden and to take his dog fishing and be with his friends and family to share
stories of life.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Mary Louise Bailey of DeRidder; one daughter, Sharon Bailey of DeRidder; two sons and daughters in law, Fred Russell and Mary Bailey of Spokane, Wash. and Woodrow Kendall and
Mary Francis Bailey of Florence, Ore.; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Alzymers Foundation.
