Funeral services for Mr. Charlie Alton Johnson will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 28, 2009, in the Chapel of Smart & Son Funeral Home in Leesville with Rev. L.E. Roberts and Rev. Louis Magee Officiating.
Burial
will be in Castor Cemetery in Leesville under the direction of Smart & Son.
Mr. Johnson, 55, passed away in his residence on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2009.
A native of Pitkin, he worked for the Vernon Parish Police Jury
as a road foreman of Ward 7 for around 18 years, and thenwent to work for Cubic until his health forced him retire. He was a member of the Pentecostal faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Murray and Dezie Perkins
Johnson.
Survivors include his two daughters, Penny and Amber; and one grandaughter. Along with his brothers, Walton Johnson of Leesville and Herman Johnson of Cleveland, Texas; and two sisters, Mrs. Wanda Cooley and Mrs. Janie
Wingate, both of Leesville.
