Funeral services for SFC Leslie M. Johnson, 43, of Fort Polk, will be at 2 p.m. Monday, January 26, 2009 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Burkeville, Texas. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, January 25, 2009 at the FM 1414 Chapel
in Burkeville.
Leslie died January 20, 2009 at his home. A native of Rochester, Minn., he graduated from Mayo High School in Rochester. He enlisted in the U.S. Army on September 23, 1987 and served as Military Police for the past 21
years. He made six combat tours and is a member of JRTC of Fort Polk.
Survivors include his wife Jamie Johnson; father Arvid Johnson and mother Norma Johnson, both of Hayfield, Minn.; two sons, Aaron & Elijah Johnson, all of Fort
Polk; five brothers, Dan Johnson and wife Gail of Pine River, Minn., Randy Johnson and wife Kathy of Kasson, Minn., Rick Johnson and wife Tammy of Hayfield, Minn., Jeff Johnson and wife Virginia, of Kasson, Minn. and Brad Johnson of Austin, Texas;
three sisters, Sue Laach and husband Steve of Spring Valley, Minn., Linda Johnson and Tammy Ellison and husband Ray, all of Rochester, Minn.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, Davida and Diana Johnson and one brother Duane
Johnson.
Memorials may be made to the Baptist Children’s Home.
